No Lentil | Farali Sambhar
Sambar essentially is a lentil curry very popular in Southern India served with Rice or Idli, Dosa and Medu vada.
However this is my humble attempt in making a no lentil sambar and it definitely tasted yummy. Since we are fasting this month I have been trying to make some variation to our daily diet.
I haven't used sambar masala as is since had to keep it in compliance to our fasting restrictions.
You could always use that instead.

I used my instant pot at 18 min High pressure.
Once nicely cooked, using a hand blender churn it into a nice smooth puree.
In another take a small skillet , add 2 tblsp of clarified butter ,once it heats add cumin seeds, red chilli , curry leaves, cumin powder, coriander powder.
Add to the puree and add salt and water to adjust the consistency.
I added chopped raw banana for that crunch. Alternatively you could add potatoes as well.Boil it for nice 5-10 mins. Until the veggies are cooked.
Squeeze little lemon for the extra tangents.
Serve with you choice of dosa or farali dosa ,rice or drink like a nice soup.
