Amritsari Chole


Chole is a very popular dish specifically from Northern part of India paired with Bhatura, or Alu samosa chat or the Kulcha 🤤. Chole can be prepared in several ways but this one is special. It has that rustic flavor in them.This recipe is a keeper..The taste does full justice to these drool worthy pictures!



Ingredients
2 cups Garbanzo beans
Salt to taste
2 tblsp Ginger long thin sliced
1 tbsp chopped celery
coriander powder
chilli powder per taste
 rock salt
3 heaping spoon of MDH Garam Masala ( MUST) 




Procedure 
Rinse and Soak the Garbanzo beans overnight or for atleast 8 hrs.
Use fresh water and too much to pressure cook. 

Add little salt and the tea bag in the pot along with the beans to cook. Yes !Tea bag that gives it nice dark brown color

I have used my instant pot to pressure cook the beans on High pressure Manual 20 mins and natural release.


I have taken chopped celery ( optional)
And lots of lengthwise cut ginger..yes its a must for this one!


In a pan take about 3 tbsp oil and saute ginger , Celery and red chilli.


Now slowly keep adding the boiled beans .do not add too much water at this time. You slowly will add it later.


Now add the spices !
1 tsp coriander powder, chilli powder per taste, rock salt and 3 heaping spoon of MDH Garam Masala 😃


Slowly add water and cilantro and keep it on medium flame to boil for about 15 mins
Add water to get the consistency of your choice.


Serve it hot with your choice of Bhatura, Kulcha or chat!
